Spelling tools have not reached the point where they can read the minds of writers. “Acclimation” is a word. It is not detectable as an error of spelling or grammar in the original context by any tool of which I am aware. Further, I’ll bet you are unaware of any such tool. I’d be interested to know of one; it would be fascinating.

But I doubt reality is your interest. Making a fuss about nothing, is. It allows you to salve your mind against having to consider alternatives to your — I presume — leftist beliefs. Just convince yourself that the other side is stupid and you need not pay attention. The stupidity is in someone who goes off on a word error instead of attempting to provide substantive discourse or rebuttal on any number of other articles in this blog.

Getting a single word incorrect hardly negates the possibility of mastery. No one is infallible. Sometimes we’re tired or in too much of a hurry. S/He who does nothing makes no mistakes. As seems typical, a leftist — I presume — jumps to conclusions to meet his (or her) needs. By the way, I think there should be a hyphen between English and only. As a whole, the sentence is grammatically incorrect.

You want to talk about mastery? Find the article that shows how state government spending has increased 5x faster than population and inflation. Rebut that. Oh, wait, you can’t. Complain about acclimation instead.

I could take you to task regarding your stated requirement for mastery of English being related to mastery of any other subject by naming Aristotle, Da Vinci, and countless others who never knew English. You would consider me too literal but I see it as no more so than your foolish diatribe based on a single word.

Requirements for English are not necessarily xenophobic or racist except in the minds of those who cannot understand or think of any other reasons or who, preferring a particular stance, choose to ignore other possibilities while sticking to distasteful labels.

What does science have to do with anything? Be serious. For just one example, Cap and Trade legislation is derived from science that shows global warming. No science; no global warming; no Cap and Trade legislation.

I’m not surprised you’d bet that way. You’d lose. The two words are in my vocabulary. But there you go again, making things up to make yourself feel better. It’s a common thread in leftist philosophy, talking points, and debate. And I know the difference between its and it’s, too, though I appreciate that many people have trouble with those two.
